The RMP Foundation was created in memory of Ronald Maese Peralta. He was born and raised in Southern California and served in the Army, 101st Airborne, Fort Campbell, KY, where he met his wife. He was a Tribal Chairman of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians in Valley Center, California. Over the course of his tenure as Tribal Chairman, he implemented programs that followed his passion of creating the first Indian education program on the reservation long before tribes began investing in casinos. When he was a child, his mother instilled in him and his four brothers the importance of an education. His children were the first generation in the family to graduate from college.

Despite a long-term illness, he still visited the reservation and was active in tribal council meetings. “Family first” was his motto! His grandchildren adored their dotting Papa. Known as Uncle Ronnie to his nieces and nephews, he was the family patriarch. He was a friend, father, uncle and husband that all could lean on. He spent his time listening to jazz and watching his favorite sports – football and basketball, always cheering for the Washington Football Team and the Los Angeles Lakers! Attending Super Bowls was a great passion of his. He is remembered for his sense of humor, love for life and optimistic attitude.
